Crystal McClain-Turnquest

Crystal McClain-Turnquest is a financial professional with over 30 years of experience in the financial sector, including a decade specializing in regulatory compliance and Anti-Money Laundering. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management from Nova Southeastern University and has earned multiple industry-recognized certifications, including the ICA Diploma in Anti-Money Laundering, Governance, Risk & Compliance (MICA), the Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) designation, the Diploma in International Trust Management (TEP), and the CFA Investment Foundations Certification.
Continuing to expand her expertise, she recently completed the "Introduction to Digital Currency" certification from the University of Nicosia, Cyprus. She is an active member of the International Compliance Association, the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists, and the Bahamas ACAMS Chapter, staying engaged in global compliance and regulatory developments.
Throughout her career, Crystal was previously employed with the Securities Commission of The Bahamas, in the Supervision Department overseeing the compliance function across multiple financial sectors including securities, investment funds and financial and corporate services and has held key positions as Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Reporting Officer at various financial institutions. She currently serves as the Chief Compliance Officer and MLRO of a Digital Asset Business where she oversees compliance strategy and regulatory adherence.
Her dedication extends beyond the corporate sector, as she has served in governance and financial oversight roles, including as a director on the Ministry of Environment & Housing’s Protected Areas Fund from May 2017 to 2018 and as a member of the Finance and Investment Board of Grants Town Wesley Methodist Church from 2010 to 2011 and again from 2019 to 2022.
